Frequently asked Questions
Why the change?
We want to provide our patients with the best service we can, and never want to compromise on our commitment to patient safety and excellent clinical care. Using eConsult helps us to allocate each request to the right person or team that can help you best. This will increase our appointment availability and reduce waiting times for you.
We really value continuity of care at Killick Street and this change will help us to continue providing this.
Other GP practices that have already made this change have found that patient satisfaction with their service has improved.
How does it work?
These changes apply to all patients aged 16 years or older. For children under 16, you can use eConsult or you can call the reception team.
When you call the surgery, we will ask you to complete an eConsult form online.
If this is not possible for whatever reason, our reception team will complete the form with you whilst you are on the phone. They will run through a set of questions that will ensure your request is dealt with by the most appropriate person. If you prefer not to discuss your information with the reception team, you will need to complete an eConsult form.
All administrative tasks, including requests for reports and sick notes must be submitted via eConsult .
You can submit an eConsult form on:
Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 6:30 pm Closed between 1-2 pm
Saturday 8 am – 3 pm – These will be dealt with that day by our iHUB service.
Sunday Closed
Please contact reception for urgent calls only after 5 pm.
How will my eConsult form be dealt with?
eConsults submitted before 6:30 pm will be reviewed and responded to that same day.
eConsults submitted after 6:30 pm will be reviewed and responded to the following working day.
Responses to your eConsult will be by text message or phone call. Many enquiries can be processed without the need for an appointment.
Clinical queries
Responses to clinical enquiries will come from an appropriate clinical team member. This may be a nurse, physician associate, pharmacist, GP or a GP Registrar. All clinical requests will be allocated according to the clinical urgency. We have a selection of appointments with different time frames, either by telephone or face-to-face review. We may contact you with instructions about having investigations or to ask a few more questions before your appointment.
Admin queries
eConsults for admin queries will be dealt with by the reception team.
What if I have an urgent problem?
For urgent issues, please submit an online form as early as possible or call the practice.

What if I don’t speak English?
If you struggle with English, please ask someone you trust to help you fill out the eConsult form or use an online translator. Our reception team can also assist with an interpreter if needed.
